My 77 is Classic White, and the interior code on the door plate translates to "Smoke Gray" on a chart I found. The dash, carpet, console, and rear trim is a light gray. However, the seats, door panels (Deluxe) and T-Top trim is all White. Did the factory do 2-tone interiors, or has a previous owner changed colors? Is there a way to check what was original? (Most everything on the car apprears to be original.) I want to upgrade the interior and would like to stay original.

There weren't any two-tone combinations until later collector editions, and that was primarily door trim. The only combinations available otherwise was all leather or leather and cloth, but the same color. It looks like a prior owner has changed yours.
The door trim plate is the only way to tell what was original, other than having the build sheet or window sticker. If you want to make it original, stick with what the trim plate says.

My '76 interior code was also for smoke grey. It had some mix and match colors from the previous owner. We went back to original for the most part and I must say it turned out pretty nice. We cleaned all and re-dyed most of the parts, some we replaced. If you are going to dye it, make sure you get plenty of dye the first time and all from the same lot number. There are minor shade variances between lots and manufacturers. You can see some pics at the link below.
