The interior plastic trim pcs. in my 77 are in good shape but need to be painted or do they need to be dyed.Can someone set me straight on what to do.I did a truck years ago and used lacquer,but I guess thats not avail. anymore. How can you dye plastic?

A good auto paint supply store can match the color and mix you the paint. For one of my cars I needed that done...a local dealer took one of my interior parts and computer matched it, and prepared several cans of spray paint. It was a beautiful match.
If you do that, make sure you tell them whether it's for a hard plastic part or a vinyl part. They need to know that in case they need to add a flex agent to the mix.

go to corvetteamerica.com or madvet.com and they have interior paint. it is in aerosol cans and they have your exact color to match your car. i did my center console and parking brake cover with it. i have oxblood color interior and they sent me the exact same color to match. and they are i think 20 dollars a can.

I would also reccomend getting the primer. I did mine with the same and you would not believe how good they came out. Just like any other paint/dye put light coats on.

I have used Mar Hyde and Sem products ,check the web for a dealer near you. Follow the directions and the stuff will never come off. Comes in spray cans for under $10.00 each might need 2 cans for a C3 interior. Here is the web for Mar Hyde.

All good suggestions. I have dyed many interior parts.
Be sure to use a good wax and grease remover first, then lightly scuff with a 3M pad similar to a Scotch Brite pad. Clean it again. Then prime with an interior primer, and then apply the dye. If you skip any steps the coloring might not last, or may flake off.
A few thin coats are much better than one thick one, and will last longer without cracking or peeling.
