My steering column, incl horn button, has typical dings and cracks. I would like to repaint it but don't want to have to remove the entire column. Is there a way to remove the covering/panels w/o a complicated effort? Thanks

The horn button you can remove. The rest would require the column to be removed.

You can actually disassemble the column in the car, but the center section going down in the dash would still be intact unless you take the column loose.  It's a lot of work.  You may want to tape off everything and do it in the car, but a better job can be had by removing the column.

Ken, I think I like your idea best. I'm more confident in my ability to tape off than in my ability to correct a problem I create by trying to disassemble the column. Thanks for the help,

Todd
