Anyone know the trick to putting a new parking brake plastic slider on. It won't fit over the handle without cutting it. When I purchased the car, the one on it was already cut. I bought a new slider and can't get it over the handle. I had the console off and I couldn't figure how to get it on. Does the plastic hand grip come apart somehow? Any ideas????

I will have the same problem. Hope you get an answer. My slider was also cut and I bought a new one but am waiting for winter to take the whole interior apart to fix several things.

The sliders I have replaced have a perpendicular slot thru the handle hole. If I remember correctly, you have to twist the slider to get it over the parking brake handle then finess it into the slider track inside the console.

tip...Look at the shape of the lever when installing the slider,,it kind of resembles an elongated "D". You can install the slider upside down by mistake,I did, duh.
