I've got an 82CE (power everything)This is a low mileadge car that really don't need anything but I got a deal on a new carpet set.My orignal is a bit faded.I noticed that when I replaced my storage compartment doors.I want to go ahead and put the new carpet in but need advise on taking out my drivers side power seat.I've got an 82 corvette shop manual to help but I wanted to hear from somebody that has done this before I jump into it.My elecritical skills are zeroI also bought seat covers from Al Knoch.I've got a friend at work that does uhpolstry for the aircraft we build. He also had his own shop and has done all years of corvettes(owns one himself)He will put my seat covers on for $25.00 per piece.I bought the covers because I felt that buy the time I needed them the price would be a lot higher. They look so good that I want to put them on now too. When will this madness end?Or does it?

Hey, I just took out my 81 seats. Its simple there are four bolts under the car take those off and left the seat up. There is a waring harness coming up threw the carpet just unhook it from the seat. That simple.
Ok,I'll give it a try.I've done plenty of carpet and seat removal in the past, just never one with power seats.Just one other question. You said under the car.I have to do it from under the car?All the other ones I've done have been inside the car.Move the seat forward and unbolt the rear, slide the seat back and do the ones in front.
On the vettes you take the bolts off under the car for the driver side. On the passenger side you pull the seat back and do it from within the car. The power motor is attach the frame of the seat so when you take it off the seat every thig comes with it. Yes the whole thing is crazy. Welcome to the corvette world.
