All,

My drivers side window does not work on the "80" I purchased a few weeks ago, and it's time for me to tear into it and find out what's wrong.
Does anybody have any ideas on where to start looking? Or should I start with the switch and work towards the door?
Any and all help is appreciated as always.

Regards,

Kevin in Cincy

First things to check would be the switches. I would make sure you have power there, and if so, check the plug at the motor in the door. If you have power at the motor, well it looks like after 22 years it died on you |sad|

Thanks Dukman,

I pulled off the door panel last night, and am getting ready to head out and do some troubleshooting. Looks like a lot of fun stuff going on inside the door of these things!!!!
Here we go.... |headscratch|

Dukman,
Just did a little test. Hooked up the drivers side switch to the passenger side window, and it worked. So, it looks like the power window motor has gone south. I'll pull the thing out and plug it into the passenger side plug in just to make sure. Then, I guess it's "ecklers time" to get a new window motor.
Would it be wise to go ahead and buy 2 of them, knowing the inevitable will happen the minute I get the new interior all put back in the car? (the other motor will fail...probably)
Thanks again for the input. Back out to the garage....(may need to go grab a six pack for this job...) |cheers|

Only a six pack?!?!?! |laugh|
If you can swing it, two motors might not be a bad idea. Get the credit card ready |biggrin|
