Vette(s): 1979 Corvette, ZZ4 with serpentine belt front dress, ATI THM 350 with 3500 stall, Vette Brakes and Products suspension, tires - 295/50 rear 255/60 front on factory aluminum alloys, Autometer guages
I have a 79 with power windows but manual locks. This seems strange since it also has the factory security system. All the option lists I have seen have power windows and locks as one option. Also my wiring diagram (GM) shows that power locks were used with the security system. Am I reading things wrong? The car came to me well worn but intact 18 years ago. I did not find a build sheet even when I pulled the fuel tank. I really don't care enough to go spend 50 bucks to get a copy of the original invoice, but was just wondering.
thanks

In 79 only 28,465 cars came with the Power locks and window package....add to that the 9054 that only had power door locks......so of the 53,807 made seems quite a few didnt have power locks...

My 79 has both!

Hi Mark, My '78 has a factory alarm with power windows, but no power locks. It is armed and disarmed by the driver-door key locking and unlocking. The alarm will be tripped by opening a door, lifting the hood, or taking off a T-Top. There is a separate horn that beeps when triggered, and can be stopped by turning the driver-door key to unlock.
