Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.
I want to put in a radio with built in CD player and would also like MP3 Player input in my 82CE. I plan on keeping the original radio and Bezel & speakers in a box but want better sound. I keep looking at what is available and most want to sell me a radio with external CD player or the Bezel that has a clock which the 82CE does not have.
I do not have a great ear I just like music or talk when I'm driving. Anyone have first hand knowledge of a system that has the correct 82 Bezel.
I have the correct paint for the Bezel so it can be black that is not the problem. I will mask the chrome trim and spray the bezel.

Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses.

If you are planning on using a replacement bezel, I would buy the bezel, then purchase an aftermarket head unit separately. Check out Crutchfield or another source, like a local stereo shop (or even Best Buy or another Big Box store). In the end, I think you'll end up with a better stereo, with the features you want for a lower price.
I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

I don't remember the brand name but I've seen ads in the Corvette magazines that say "Don't Cut That Dash".

Even if you find a replacement bezel for an 82 you can just cut the replacement. Thats what I did and I have an aftermarket cd/dvd player that is going in. Got it from circuit city before they closed their doors. Any standard head unit is an easy install and then cutting the bezel was not really a bad job either with a dremil tool.
