My 79 has a 3-point strap that can be used to keep cargo (or T-Tops) from sliding around in the rear compartment.

What other year C3s have this strap?

Three point strap?  What 3 point strap.... !

Oh damn, another thing to go dig around and see if I can find...ya'll need to stop this off the wall thing.
For those of you who said that they were useless, how do you keep your t-tops from moving around? Do you have some other way of storing them that I don't know about?
I put the tops in their separate covers/bags and put them in the rear compartment area, next to each other.
I suppose if I hit something hard , they would go flying and I might get hit in the head .
Something to think about.

They really don't move around unless you roll or do a end for end with the car.

If you tighten the strap correctly it keeps the rear fenders in correct alignment with the centerline of the body.

Actually, the straps keep the rear bulkhead behind the seats from sagging due to the weight of the seats, our butts, and the spare change & french fries that always wind up down there. It's in the owner's manual.

My Pace Car originally came with them but somewhere along the way took them out.  I spent alotta time looking for them and finally found them on eBay for $30 at a local Corvette place. I also bought the three little tie down point bars for like $1.25 each from them.  It does look better without them but I want everything back to original.

If anyone is looking for these straps or the tie down points I think Pacific Corvettes has one set of straps left, and I don't know how many of the tie down points.

Oh ya the set of straps they have are silver.  I'm sure they can be died though

When I purchased my vette - they were missing. I searched and searched for them and finally found some from a 75 that were in real good condition for 30 bucks from corvettejunk.com. Since I got them I use them all the time.

Pros: it really holds the tops in there firmly so the don't move around at all and it does add support for the rear area. Cons: it's a P.I.T.A. to get into the rear compartments for anything with the tops tied down. You have to loosen the strap, and move the t-tops.
