Vette(s): 1978 Silver Anniversary, all original but tires.
Yep, that's exactly what I need. And I'm in luck because I can just use the black. THANKS! All the times I look through those catalogues, and my husband looks through them, we never noticed them. Geez.

I'll order and wait for a break in the weather. This'll be an outdoors job.

Thanks again, Steve!

Steve, that was actually a huge help. We took it by an upholstery shop and they suggested we try that as well. Seems the seat will probably do well using the resto kit, and we can go another couple of years with the foam we have. PHEW (wasn't really looking forward to that kind of an investment in that thing right now)

Your new baby is NICE! Is that an original silver?

Right, that's it, not Mothers (my husband would've known it- I just remembered it being an 'M' word Hehehe)

I'm going to try the saddle soap and mink oil... I think we even have some around here we used for leather boots. I really would like to salvage them so I think I will stop by an upholstery shop and see what they say about the wear/cracks.

I'm thinking you're right too- the wrinkling is caused by the foam being broken down. The driver's seat is much flatter than the passenger, and the back at the inside side has the wrinkling. Weird.

Thanks for the input guys, I'm going to condition what I've got, and see what the upholstery guy has to say about the wear and replacing the foam.

yep sure is- the entire car is a completely original 79 survivor.
most of what has made this car look good is alot of detailing
and some strategic uses of assorted spray paint! took it to a car
show last year and i was really happy how she compared to the
other c3's i was parked next to. amazing how just a good
amount of elbow grease can make the difference. i look at the
"before" pics! when i got the car, it came with an uninstalled
NOS front spoiler, so i painted and installed that, making the
front end look a helluva lot better. almost everything else is
strictly alot of compound and polish!

what i meant to say is yes, the paint is original, and its amazing
with just alot of elbow grease the car looks amazingly newer
than when i first got it. the before and after pics make it look like
a night and day difference! thanks for compliments!
