Pulled from the swamps of Miami!
Its a driver and back on the road!
Don't ask me why but I Am removing the door glass and then replacing the window spring?
The car is running great and might get her out tomorrow and take a drive to keep things running, suppose to warm up here in PA, but anyway I Will check the old post but just wondering on any comments about removing the glass from the passenger side? It is not aligning up with the t-tops rubber seals and it has some small scratches on the glass. I bought this window paste at the carlisle show to try and remove some of the tiny scratches but not sure it this will work or just get new glass???? Then before reinstalling the glass I must change the spring. It is easy going down but it is not going up all the way. The motor seems OK but its either binding or not aligned right or the spring. I will replace the worn rollers hardware as needed but feel it's time to get the window working so it comes up all the way.
So any short cuts or hints or past experiences on this one or any videos on how to would be appreciated.
Like I said I should just go for a ride and forget this nonsense, I know it will be a project, but better then this summer. I usually never have the window up anyway so just leave it down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks BB78

Pulled both my windows out a couple of years ago to repace broken track rollers. Used the service manual that oulined all the adjustments for windows....there are many adjustments for moving window in and out, up and down, and tilting. It's an aggravating job for sure but can be done with some patients. Needless to say you must remove the inner door panel. Good time to lube up everything that moves in there.

I agree with Dan!! I have had to replace the window seals on both sides of my 81. It is a reak PITA but when you are done, your windows will work good as new. Time and patience is what it takes and by all means use the service manual!!
