I read something interesting recently.
A sheet of Bounce (fabric softener) inside your car will keep mice away. I've read several posts here where the little boogers have a taste for wiring and insulation. I guess they don't like to smell cuddly!

I put a couple of small plastic bags of moth balls with small holes poked in them in my car during storing for the winter.I do the samething with power equipment, lawn tractor, snow blower, power washer, those little BOOGERS love to make nests up inside motors,
I also put some moth balls in the air cleaner, they love to get in there, like a mini mouse condo

The worst experience I had with Mickey and Minnie was the home they built in the exhaust of a truck for my son. I never could figure out why it wouldn't run long.
When it finally built up enough gases and pressure, the backfire blew the whole system off and mouse nest was all over the garage! Truck ran fine after that!

Yet again I have to say...... I'd hate to live somewhere you have to lay your car up for a season.
I just love to drive all year round. I only have to watch out for the really big mice on the highway. (Kangaroos)
I don't think fabric softner would help.....

I bought a 67 coronet with 19K miles on it once.. it sat for 14 years in a garage after the old lady died..
car was immaculate.. not a dent, not a scratch.. all maintenance records. jack had never been used.
paid fifty bucks..
had to replace very piece of rubber on the car.. full tuneup, wheel cylinders, carb rebuild, etc. spent 1000$ to get it road worthy the first weekend i had it.
all this to say.. mice never got in the car.. but a family of them crawled up in the exhaust.. first time i fired it up
I launched dead mice neighbors yard for the first couple of minutes..
I laughed so hard I was crying.

Here is a good one. After storeing my car in a barn one winter I couldn't keep the motor running. I removed the top of the air cleaner to find it was filled to the top with dog food nuggets....chipmonks!
After that I always used fresh mint leaves..no more problems.

in one of my galaxies i got something lodged in one of the mufflers after letting it sit at home for a year in school.. when i finally fired it back up again.. it started burning.. never did figure out what it was.. but it stank so bad i changed mufflers..
moral of this story and the one above.. cover your exhaust with a zip lock bag and a rubber band

I got a 74 Monte Carlo for nothing for a doner moter for my old pick up. It had been sitting for a while. When I punched it it blew out about a pound of acorns!
