Before I go on a search for new seats can anyone recommend or tell me what year seats will fit into my 76? I have been thinking on replacing my worn and unconmfortable original seats with a pair from a later model corvette. I don't have a clue on what years might fit with slight modifications (drilling new holes and installing backing plates ETC...). Any info would help.....PLEASE

I have seen pictures and read posts in the past on seat swaps. I liked the look of the C5 seats. But with those seats you need to remove the motors from under the seat base to lower it down or modify the floor pan for clearance.
Two things to watch out for is the seat base height and the seat back length. If the seat base is much taller than your current seat then your head will be into the T-top. I am 5'-6" and I know there is not much room above my head. If the seat back is too tall you will have trouble tilting it forward to gain access to the back.
I looked into to doing a seat swap a few years ago but decided to rebuild my original seats instead. If you go through with the swap, let us know how it goes

I like the looks of the 79 seats in leather / vinyl. Are they powered? and what is the dimension from the floor to the top of the seat back and accross the seat bottom?
See my posts under new interior,1979 seats fit perfectly and are more comfortable.

Thanks Todd, My zz4 is still sitting next to the car waiting for me to get the money for the rebuild tranny before I can install it! The 79 seats aren't cheep either so as far as that goes I will be wishing for the winning ticket in the LOTO to get all those extras. I like the idea on the license plate,,,,,how about MYMONEY OR MYLAST1.
