I am planning on replacing my seat backs, does anyone have any recommendations on where I should get them, what to look for, etc?

I know when buying replacement parts, new stock or reproduction you can get into a lot of variations. I would really love to get a NOS, but not sure if they are around anymore.  Question

The reproductions are abs plastic instead of the original fiberglass and in my opinion actually fit and look better than the originals. Bought a set for my 78SA because one of the originals was cracked. Found a NOS shortly after and changed them back, even tho the repros looked good. Anyway, I've a set of repros in dark blue I'd take $40 + shipping for. I also have ONE very nice original fiberglass back, also in blue, also for $40. All of them can be painted if wanted.  Mike

Jimmy, JOEMOD hasn't been back online since he posted this thread.  Let me give him one more day to respond if he might want the seat backs, as I did post about them with him in mind. Otherwise they're yours if you want them, I'll just send them and you can send me a check when you get them. I'll let you know Wednesday nite.  Mike

PS, why not sell the L82 emblems to offset the cost of the backs? I really don't need them, they'd just go in my box-o-parts!

Thanks for waiting for me, but no send them to Jimmy. I think I am going to take your suggestion and go with the repro's. My interior is red and don't want to paint.

Where did you get the Reproduction set from?

Thanks as always, Clap

[/QUOTE] Got them from Ecklers a few years ago. See them listed in their catalog for $44.99 EACH in choice of colors or $35.99 in black. Pretty much all the vendors sell the same ones.

Jimmy, I'll put them in the mail tomorrow.   Mike

Thanks Mike, We've never had backs on the wifes car seats. I built that interior up from scratch.Found some rusty old seat frames and recovered 'em.The backs seemed a luxury at the time, but now that we're headin' up to Carson City I guess I'll be self conscious about a lot of things. I really don't need to show the cars off, I just love 'em, and want them to be a part of my life HugHeart. I appreciate the deal bro.
