OK  Here's one filed under -"things you never anticipated".  My seat bottom frame was rusted badly so I picked up a replacement on eBay.  After having new foam and seat covers installed I notice that the seat bumpers on my original seat back and new seat bottom are misaligned so badly the rubber bumpers get chewed up in no time.  Any one have an idea on how to solve this problem without taking off the upholstery and moving the screw locations.  I'm sure I it would require cutting and re-welding the screw mounting holes in the seat frame which I really don't want to do.  I'm probably just going to place a piece of metal stock across the tops of the bumpers to make the trip to Carlisle this weekend!

And here's what it is supposed to look like:

Can't make this stuff up!

My opinion is you are going to have to take the seat bottom upholstery loose in the rear and put a repair plate in and drill new holes to relocate the bumpers. You can buy the plate from the catalogs or make one yourself. I made a couple for my car and cost me very little. No need to weld, just bolt or rivet it in. Carlisle people will have lots of help or answers.
