Make sure you use the installation kit - you'll want to use the new rods.

Doc,
Its not very hard to do. Just take your time and they will look great. It took me a couple of evenings sitting in front of the TV one winter. One thing to do when you pull the seat base cover off is to check the seat base for cracks near where the seat adjustment stops are. You might want to reinforce that area and have someone add weld to the adjustment nuts. When you replace the foam be sure to trim off the foam flashing (stuff that oozes out from the mold parting line) If not you can see the roughness through the leather. Do a search and you should come up with some threads on seat covers.

[QUOTE=steve 1963] Hi !

Hey Steve question,
I have covered my 76 seats several years ago but have since grown increasing fond of the earlier style seats with the seat belt hardware / trim in the shoulder area.
I think I would like to recover my seats again in that style. I haven't found that hardware listed in MAM books or anywhere else. Ive watched E-bay and different Forums / swap meets but no luck yet.
Any Thoughts???

I am the director at Mid America Motorworks' manufacturing facility -
Performance Choice. We manufacture seat covers, seat foam, 1978-82 door panels, sound/heat shields, carpet sets and hundreds of other items right here in Effingham, IL. I have been with Mid America for 29 years & am restoring my 16th Corvette.
We use the very best leather hides (over 70 colors in stock) we can find - Conneaut Leather, top quality vinyls, etc. There definitely is a difference in the Corvette interiors available on the market.
If you need an interior for your Corvette, give us a try. I am installing our leather seat covers, seat foam, sound deadener and carpet in my own 1972 Steel Cities 4 speed Coupe. I know they fit and look great. I also installed our new seat belt sets with shoulder belts - very close to OEM & only $249.99 complete !
Thanks for your business!

I checked with our Installation Team. The 1976 & later frames do not have the seat belt inner guide bracket on the seat back frame. You would need to get this from used seat back frames - 1970-1975. The 1976 backs do have the holes for installation of the chrome/black bezels, which are available from Mid America Motorworks. You would need the earlier seat foam also, for best fit.
