I bought my 69 and the return spring on the drivers side adjuster was broke...

I found out by driving it around a few days after i bought it and slamming on the brakes because some idiot was jaywalking.. the seat slammed forward to the front stop and I went with it..

scared the sh*t out of me.

Well it sure makes me feel better! Had that same experience in a '71 RoadRunner. 383 Magnum - doing around 90 on the interstate. Hit the off ramp doing 75, down-shifted and damn near ate the steering wheel.

That was 25 years ago. And I'll guarantee you nobody ever got the stains off that driver's seat.

thanks for your help guys. It looks like those babys are going to get drilled out!

...got the seat out...just moved back and forth about a hundred times.... spring was not attached to the adjuster.....just a longer 1/2" socket on the underside to hold it if it spins...thanks everybody

If none of the previous listed things work to remove the bolts at the rear of the seat, you can use a pair of vice grips on a socket on the inside ones but as for the ones closest to the rocker panels you will have to find the hole in the frame. Now, for YOUR convenience (haha) the hole in the frame does not line up with the captive nut that could be free spinning, so I would use a 12 point socket and a universal joint and lot of cussing.
