So I've been pondering for quite a while about my interior. A few weeks ago I ordered carpet and a bunch of trim pieces for the interior. My last major decison was what to do about the seats. I seriously considered putting C5 seats in, but then changed my mind. I decided I wanted to put the later C3 seats in. So look what I got on e-bay.... 79 bucks plus another 60 for shipping got me all of the backs and bottoms, plus the hinges and hinge covers. they need some serious cleaning and painting, but I think they'll be great. I'm going to order new cushions and covers this weekend. I'll wait until later in the fall to start the interior, but I want to try to get everything here before I start. I'll post a pic of how they turn out.... jgoglick2007-10-05 17:59:01

Or sell the old ones to me... I have been looking for the old style with the metal seat belt plate in the headrest portion. I like the style much better than the 76 el' plano seat style. If this is a consideration John send me a PM.

Good luck with the installation of the new comfort fit seats. I searched back on the seats postings and it looks like they should bolt right in. (but you know that cause you been thininkin about this for awhile huh?)

They should look great when you get them done!

My original ones are the el' plano style, but I'm going to hold on to them anyways. The one who has the most spare parts wins? Right? Big%20smile

I thought about using those seats when I started my interior. I liked them when they were in my 79 and knew they would fit my 70. I wound up just buying the leather cover and new foams for my original seats and reusing them. The good thing about those seats, you can buy the covers already installed on the seats and all you have to do is install them into the frame and you are done. Much easier than recovering the old stockers like came in mine and yours.

Well, I'm back from a small vacation today. After doing some pruning and trimming out front, I decided to do a little work on the seats. I got the carpet panels off the back of the seats. Not too hard - having the seats sit outside for 5 years really breaqks down the glue! Hopefully tomorrow I'll get them all apart and start the cleaning. Pics will follow Wink. Do have a question - do all of these style seats have carpet on the backs of the seats or was it an option? Either way, I'm leaning towards not putting carpet on.

I do believe that style of seat has carpet on the back. If it looks good without the carpet, leave it that way if it suits you.
