Topic: seats question
in Forum: C3 Interior

I am re wrapping my seats with hardware and all and i am stumped on what to do. is there a set of directions i could get even if it is in pdf format? i don't have the money to haev someone do it for me. and i would try to look at carlisle but it seems my dad has other things going on adn i won't be able to get out there this coming carlisle show. so no new/old parts for me. so i am going to start now and work on my car. I already replaced my centrer console and parking brake cover and my dash pad. seats are next. i took out the passenger side seat to work on first. but i need directions. i dont currently have a mode of transportation to get around so i cant bring it to soembodys house either. so i am stuck and have no choice but to do it here.
Any suggestions? ideas?
thanks
Jeremy

yeah i just checked it out. i need step by step directions. these guys are doing a brief rundown on how to do seat installation plus its directions for a 65 granted theres not much difference. acid stripped frames and burlap and everything else they added isn't necessary, at least i hope not. anyhow. thanks for looking mike.

PS. I had never done seatcovers before and they came out looking great. Take a ton of dig pictures and reference were everything was before you started and you will be fine. Good luck

just some extra info...the seats can be swapped side to side on our cars. They are not specific to drivers/pass. sides. So, if ya got a driver's seat that has a tear/stain/etc. on the outside edge, just swap it over to the pass. side, and the damaged area will be hidden!

i give up. thanks all but since i can't find and no one else can find real instructions on this. i am giving up and going to try to find new seats all done. i tried but found my frames are bent on the back so they are no where near the foam when i try to mount the foam on the brackets. i dunno. anybody need parts? f**k it.

Whatever you do don't buy the seats on eBay from "Vetteman Ed" in the NYC area without first seeing them. He produces lies and worthless junk.

Here is another site that goes step by step. Its not hard, just takes a little time. Make sure to trim the flashing from the foam. Its the excess that oozes out along the mold parting line. If you don't you will see a ridge through the new seat cover. I had never done seats before this either, I just followed the instruction from the site below and the corvette mag. I also straighten and reinforced my seat base to.
