I sent my speedo and tach down to Corvette Instrument Service in Florida for them to fix my trip odometer, calibration and repaint the faces.
I cant wait to see the results.Anybody have experience with this fella (Roger Scott)?

I'd like to know the results, Paul (Lukester) had some gauge work done with custom silk screening and it looked like factory! Not sure who did that for him?

So I put the tach and speedo back today and all seems to be working well(at least the tach and trip odometer that is). I havent road tested it yet due to some idioit (me) making a big ole mess in the garage today......
All in all they look pretty good, I am a bit dissapointed in the reface work on the tach, the numbers, redline and needle look fantastic, however the small L82 at the bottom looks a little smeared. I'll post some pics soon.

Vette(s): Silver 1974 Convertible - L82 4 speed
Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses.

I guess I didn't see this originally. I've had Roger do a few things for me, and while they seem good at first, I've had 2 speedos done by him fail later on. Of course, I can't say for sure if it was caused by something he did (or didn't) do, I don't think I'll be sending him anything in the future.
I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

Last January (2011), I sent my speedo to Bill Harrison - also located in Florida. This is his web page: http://harrisonspeedometer.com/
I had him convert it from the 85 to 140 mph; calibrate it; and keep the mileage, (because I am the original owner).
He did a great job. No complaints.

Vette(s): 1972 conv, 4-speed, 350, 200hp, numbers match, rally wheels, war bonnett yellow w/white top. good condition, nice driver.
I would like to change/fix the trip odometer on mine. What breaks that they do not work? I would like to have the secret receipe for removeing the dash to get to that stuff. I am also planning on replaceing the head light switch while i am in there. THANKS to all who can help.
I was told that my trip meter had some sort of plastic bushing that GM used briefly in 79 before they decided to return to using a bronze bushing.
thats all i got......

I found this set of instructions to remove / repair the speedo on a 1972 Vette. Hope this helps.
