Corvette Central, Eckler's, Mid America and most of the other vendors all have a steerwing wheel refurb service available. You can either send them your steering wheel as a trade-in and get back a refurbished replacement, or have your own refurbed, and allow extra time for it to be done. It usually runs about $225-$250 for this.
At Corvettes at Carlisle last August, I paid $175 for a refurbed steering wheel for my '78 Silver Anniversary, and the vendor installed it in my car for no extra charge. I asked why they were so much cheaper than the catalog prices, and was told by the vendor owner that he supplies the catalog retailers with their refurb steering wheel service, and I was just dealing direct with him without the markup.

Corvette America , (800-458-3475) has them re-furbished with a core exchange. As original. Page 115 in their 2003 catalog. Cost: 77-79 ... $219.00 - 80-82... $219.00
82 Collector... $249.00.
e-mail ; www.vettebox@corvetteamerica.com
There are others out there that cost less, but these are guaranteed to be original.

do you want it refurbished or a new one? There is a guy in York, Pa. that does it, very nicely too! Not the least expensive way to go though. Let me know, if interested, i'll look up his info for you.
