About a year ago I was trying to solve my sticky steering wheel problem and resorted to buying an old fashion lace on cover at Pep Boys. Well I got tired of it because it's just kinda cheap looking and my wife made fun of it. Sooooo I order a Wheelskin!!!!! Just got finished putting it on and trying it out. This is the best thing since sliced bread. It fits perfectly. For my 72 I ordered the 15" x 2 3/4". It was pretty  easy and took about an hour to get it all stiched up. I'm am so pleased with this that I thought I would let everyone know. I'm sure a lot of you have the same sticky wheel as I do. I tried every kind of cleaner you can think of and the stickyness never would go away. These guy's web site is Wheelskins.com. Great Product.

And...where are the PICS?!?!??

My solution to the sticky wheel is driving gloves.
There is NOTHING you can put on one of the older, rubbery style wheels that will clean it, or make it not be sticky.....well...nothing except a wheel cover.
It's the accumulation of the oils in you hands that causes most of the stickiness, and the natural deterioration of the rubber/plastic.Ouch

Humidity is also a factor. On humid days, my '74 wheel was and my daily driver wheel is terribly sticky. While Joel is correct, there is nothing you can do completely eliminate the problem, a good ole fashioned scrubbing with soap and water will lessen the effect.

There is no substitute for low end torque!

Try 3M adhesive remover. It works great.
