I need to remove the passenger side sun visor which has the lighted vanity mirror on my 82. The assembly manual shows the visor stud enters the metal corner assembly from the bottom and is held in by a spring and a serrated retainer washer which bites into the visor stud then the chrome cap seals the hole. I got the cap off, removed the serrated retainer (actually two of them) and the spring, assuming the visor stud would just drop out of the hole......That aint the case. The visor stud is just a tight as it was before I removed any of the retaining hardware. I cant see anything holding it in. Is there some magic trick Im missing here?

on my 90 it had basically the same thing. they had a small nut and the the serrated washer and spring. when i got them off i just tapped down on the stud and they dropped right out. took less than a hlf hour to change both.
