Juliet, you are a true jem. I was going to put new tune-up and wires on the White Ghost tonight, but I think I will try working on the visor first. If it is not too much of a job, I may do the tune up too. Many thanks |rollysmile|

Thanks, glad I could help. The visor thing is maybe a 15 minute job - and that's at my world's slowest mechanic pace! |pacman| |laugh|

15 minutes to take off both visors, clean and lube them? wow, I know it will take me at least an hour maybe two if I drink a beer between sides.

RX, Be very carefull when you have the visors in had that you don't squeeze the place where the rods fit. If you squeeze too tightly, you won't be able to get the rods back in because you will have collapsed the metal sleeves they fit in. |hammer|

Ok, I finally got around to taking my visors off. It is a very simple job. I did it, cleaned and lubed them and had them back on in less than 20 minutes, with no beer break. My next question is, one of the tubes is out of alignment. It still functions, but it is crooked inside the visor. Should I leave it alone since it is working smoothly now?

If it works, I would leave well enough alone. You would have to attempt to bend it into algnment and if you bend it too much and/or compress the sleeve, it (the rod) will never go back in.

Rick,
If it ain't broke...there is no need to fix it. At least that is how the saying goes. |smile|
