Wile having My car in being Aligned ( a big day in the project) the Tech Noticed that my Steering Column has a lot of Wobble to it. I will say that it has been this way for a long Time. I know what You are thinking thats its in the Joint where the Column Tilts but although there is a Little there its mostly coming from the Column moving around on the Axel. Yes the Bolts are Tight to the Floorboard and the Dash. The Movement looks to be a Missing or worn out Bushing 2/3rds the way down to the Floorboard. Anybody ever have one of these apart or had the same thing? Richard...

You have to remove the steering wheel and everthing down to the torx bolts that need tightened. This is not a job for the lighthearted. If you are a pretty good wrench, then go for it.
You need a wheel puller and a pivot pin puller.
It does made a big change in the feel of the car when the steering wheel doesn't wobble.
Good luck,
Denny

Thanx for the Info. So far since owning the car 26 Years I touched just about every Nut and bolt and Screw at least Twice. However I have never seen the inside of the Tilt Colunm. It also sounds like a chance to buy one of the few remaining Tools I don't have. Just what is a Pivot Pin Puller? I have never herd of such a Tool. So how dose this Job rate compared to Replaceing the Stub Axels in the Trailing Arms, or the Power Brake Booster,or the Right Rear Fuel Line ?  I've done all Three. Thanx...Richard.

It's a tool that screws into the housing pivots that pull out the pins that lets the wheel tilt. You can't see them till you remove the key housing.
Snap-on number is CJ134.
Do you have a GM corvette shop manual? If not, that would be the first tool I'd buy. I'd be lost without mine.
