Hi All!  Picture Time!

Was poking around in the car, and emptied the back storage compartments of garbage that came with car.  I found the original jack and jack components...completely rusted out :(

I also found these 4 wires (2 clipped) in the compartment behind passenger seat.  Anyone know what they are for?  This compartment is in very bad shape.  You can kind of tell in the pic.  Would spraying it with rubber insulation be a good idea?

You really need to get an Assembly Manual.

The large black, and red wires are not stock/factory...they are something someone has added for something....who knows what.
The other wires appear to be for the light for the center compartment....which I do not see in the pic.

The two unused wires look to me like they were probably to an amp. Just my .02!

The Jack Storage Compartment is where the factory theft alarm relays are located.  If that stuff is missing, then a previous owner may have removed them and left the wires.

Dr. Rebuild sells a couple of really nice, plastic laminated posters that show all the electrical wiring and what the connectors look like.  You need two and they go for about $15 each.  They call them OoSoEz wiring diagrams.

Enjoy,
John

Interesting! The alarm does work if armed and the hood is opened but does not work if doors are messed with. I wonder if what's going on in the jack compartment is causing this. I have looked at wiring diagrams in Chiltons and Haynes but they made zero sense to me. I will look into the ones you suggested.

I have a similar mess in my box but the alarm relay is still present, it might as well not be though as a PO has cut just about every wire to do with that and the interior lights!!
