I got the no-mar kit and have installed everything except the piece that goes around the gages and radio.I have a new radio and the piece is for the old style radio. How do you cut this out to make it fit. What did you use for a template? Thanks.

I've never done it, but I would start by making a template out of some stiff cardstock, like a shirt box.
Measure the distance between the knobs and cut two holes so the knobs fit through. Then measure and cut the other needed openings. Remember, you can always cut the opening bigger for a good fit, but it is harder to make the opening smaller.
Once the template is complete, trace it onto the laminate and cut.
Go slow and leave the line for finish fitting.
Let us know how you make out.

I would say if your radio is already installed, to remove it, and then remove the metal frame that your radio slides into. This frame needs to be installed after you put on the wood piece. That way your radio faceplate will fit flush and cover the opening. With the metal frame out of the way it should be easier to layout the hole, taking careful measurments and then cutting. I'd use a dremel tool.
