I now know why my air cleaner was not the original one for the car... There is a Holley 850 DP underneath that should not be. Now to find a replacement Q-Jet. Ideally I am looking for one that goes with a car built 7-Feb-1969. Will consider core or rebuilt unit.

Hi Steve,
Check this vendor out. Always at Carlisle and recently rebuilt my Q-jet for my 81.
Put it on a couple months ago with no problems, although haven't had a chance to drive it more than a couple miles. The outside looks new. He is local to me.
Let us know how you make out

Thanks, Jeff. I got a quote from Phil at Custom Rebuilt Carbs on Friday. $1,395. for a restored carb. Ouch. I was mentally prepared for $1,000. Will keep looking. I have some time to look at different options.

I'd post on the forums at this site (free to join):

People post there frequently in regards to specific model numbers.  And most posts seem to get a response from my experience.

Or call Cliff's High Performance directly - last time I did I ended up talking to the owner (Cliff) and he was very helpful.

Here's a place that has 3 different dates in stock....I circled the one that is closest to your build date, but before the build date. It is within the accepted time frame.

My replacement carb is being restored now. I was wondering if someone knew the casting numbers for the Main Bowl, Base Plate and Air Horn/Top for a Quadrajet 7029215? I realize that these casting numbers (numbers in a circle embossed, not stamped) are not unique to the 7029215 but they are good cross-check that what is represented to be a 7029215 is in fact a 7029215. Comments appreciated.
