Not that we are in the market for a '78 Corvette Pace car, but a member of the family told me of a '78 PC in his mom's garage. The owner was looking to sell. Being that he couldn't give me details about it, I had to go take a look at it. Curiousity got the best of me.
It was cool though to see sure a nice well preserved PC sitting in an old garage all coved up. So for you PC aficionados, VIN 1Z87L8S905323 is alive and well.
I was figuring that I was some "clapped out" basketcase with a million mile on it. But to my surprize the car was a 95% original unmolested Pace car with a a little over 15,000 original miles. So for the heck of it I talked to the guy that owned it. He offered the car for $30k. I would haved loved to bought the car, but $30k for a L-48/auto museum piece is a bit impractical for us at this time.
Oh and if anyone is interested in this car, send me a PM for more info. Serious inquiries please.

Very cool Darryl
There are alot of Pace Cars out there for sale right now, and its not uncommon to see some with triple digit (000) milage for sale for 30k. To me 30k is too much for a 15,000 PC. I saw one with 7 miles, basically still in its wrapper and the guy offered it to me for 25k. YA I'm still kicking myself in the arse for not buying that one.

Thanks for the report on the Vin#. I'd love to start an functional Pace Car registry online. There already are a few but so out of date that they are useless. These cars seem to tunrover owners faster then their odometers.
