Vette(s): 1975 L48 AT AC T-top
The 1969 L88 that sold on Ebay a week ago for $188,000 and some change just sold on BJ auction for $215,000.00. Not a bad profit in a week or two, even with the 8% sellers fee.

I agree that these GEMS are worth the price, but you wonder where some of these people come up with the bananas!!

Don't know about you.. but it sems to me that this whole auction thing is a game with them. To see who can get what and how much they can spend for it...... I have not seen one emotion expressed after these guys "win" the cars. Pardon my French, but a bunch of dead meat... I guess when your loaded it doesn't really matter. It has taken all the "excitement" out of it to me. $$$ is the name of the game I guess. Just like sports these days... I can remember my last purchase.. kept walking out to the garage to make sure I really did own it...

To have that kind of money to buy those cars and never show feelings of enjoyment is deranged and a little sad.

I am not sad LOL!

Speaking of B-J auctions, I just read where Terry Michaelis of Pro-Team could have purchased the last C2 (it was a silver '67 coupe with 427) in 1994 for $18K.  Instead he waited and finally did buy it for $224K a decade later.  After a body-off restoration, it just sold at Barrett-Jackson for $600,000!!! That's a bunch a zeros for an old vette!  Our C3s will soon be worth real back pocket folding money, too. But . . . who cares, if you're going to enjoy them now!

I haven't posted a photo of my latest '71 454 yet, but I will.  I'm still a "trial" kinda guy. Some of you guys have some really nice rides! Thanks for your postings and keep it up.

Sundevil...

Your trial won't last for long. If you have a C3, this is by far the best Corvette forum on the 'Net... and I am on about all of them. In fact, I feel it is about the best designed and user friendly forum.... period... Adam has done a killer job with it.

Go ahead and join up, you'll never regret it. I'm going to upgrade this year...

Welcome aboard!

Dave
