Being new to this board, I was wondering what you guys thought about creating a gallery of pictures of any and all known Maco/Mako cars. Some people would rather be unknown, and I understand that. Just the pics, man thats all. We could put email addresses or whatever on those that wanted them, otherwise they could be nameless, but could provide a great wealth of knowledge when it comes to these unique customs.
I am sure the Moderator could show us how to get it started, and I would gladly post my 2 cars.
Let's hear what you think !

Hum... I guess you don't like the gallery that I set up, including your cars, for free.
No matter where you go, there you are.

You've set us up a gallery? Where Where Where Where???? I've found a bunch of pics of random modified Corvettes, but I don't actually know what we're considering a Mako Shark, so I'm loathe to post them! heheh

http://www.makoshark2.com/owners.php is a gallery of Mako Sharks.
Some of us consider Mako Sharks to be the GM Mako Shark II prototype and the Silva/Motion Maco replica of that car.
Other people consider the Mako Shark to be just about any C3.
I'm in the first camp there.

Ahhhh...I've been there!! I really like the looks of some of those! Most of the shots of Modded C3s I have are things like a C3 re-glassed to look like a Lincoln with huge flares or to look like a touring car. I suppose those probably are NOT Mako Sharks

I wasn't trying to start anything, nor was I ungrateful for all of the work you do on your website. I was hesitant to post a link to the pictures because of the grief it caused when the link got posted about that Can Am Shark.
You have designed and maintain a great site dedicated to the Mako/Maco Shark and deserve a great big pat on the back for your
efforts. I know how it feels to do something for someone and feel like he didn't acknowledge all the work.
Just trying to keep this shark thing going.
If I offended you, please accept my apology.

I was watching tv this weekend and there was a short clip of the GM Mako Shark II blasting around the track.
I don't see how anyone could not like this custom, but
I could be just a little bit biased.
Anyway it was only just about 4 seconds, but in that length of time you could easily see what it was, there is no mistaking that shape.

I have A VHS copy of what you saw called "Wheels", "Reflections of the stylemakers". You remember them they were out A long time ago, before DVD.hahaha, anyway is there A way to become A Gold member the old fashion way? Like, you send me A bill, I pay bill. Just because technology moves at pace does'nt mean I do or want to.

Never, NEVer, NEVER apologize for someone else's ignorance! If it wasn't for the custom SS Racer built in the late 50's we wouldn't have had the beautiful C2 Sting Ray! And if it hadn't been for the Mako Shark we wouldn't have had the fabulous C3 Stingray...!!! In fact, if it hadn't been for "the dreamers" back in the late 40's and early 50's we wouldn't even have the car we all love in the first place...!!! Customs have always been the fore-runners of innovation and evolution, and will continue to be. Heck, Mother Nature's been at it since time began and is STILL working on it!
I've referenced this thread before (it's an oldie but a goodie - "Restoration vs. Modification"), but I think it shows the broad spectrum of true Vette lovers who enjoy, support, and nurture this wonderful space that Adam has created for us ALL to share.
And to quote a fuzzy character from one of Walt Disney's classics - "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all!"

'Nuff said (and standing down from soap box).
