My family will be vacationing starting the Saturday of C@C in 2011. (Just like 2010).

Driving up Thursday evening and back Friday night, then back again a week later to pick up the supplies was kind of a pain this year. Not to mention I had to rely on the kindness of many of you folks to run the booths and break down.
So, I'm trying to figure out how best to handle the C3VR/C4VR/C6VR booths at Carlisle for 2011.
I think I may give up some or all of my ID-50, 51 & 52 swap meet spaces (cost $95 each) and just rely on the folks that typically set up a tent in the C3 Parking area. I can send along a box of flyers and someone can just set them up there for people to take. No need for shifts or selling or anything.
Does that make sense, or does anyone else have any other ideas?
UPDATE: There will be a booth in space ID-50 on FRIDAY ONLY!

There always seemed to be someone at the "Camp" all the time so that is not a problem. Only "problem" was not a lot of shade, take the money from the tables and get a good sized canopy with the C3VR logo on top or all four sides so it can be seen from all angles. The regulars can take care of the rest.

We will also make sure we bring "police tape" next year to hold the space for C3's only.
So is this vacation home big enough for us to come relax with you for the rest of the week????

What and miss out in the table debacle? That sounds great Adam..I may be able to talk my dad into bringing his tent up.he was the guy with me last year ..it is deep enough to cover two spaces..he has all the tarps and stuff to put it up..maybe would need a sign or two like big E says..

Glad to hear you're feeling well! That's more important than some stupid booth.
That being said, let's keep this topic on C@C. We'll start another one for funfest when the time keeps.
Thanks!

Do we need permission from the Heads at Carlisle to put something at the parking area? Lets not get a bad rap for no reason. We can do what is needed if the help is willing. Mark

Can we commandeer a spaxce or two and invite members to sell their spare parts at the swap meet if we split the cost? We can even put up banners and set up the flyers...

Adam,
If you want to keep one spot to promote C3VR, I would help set up one tent, 2 tables with chairs, sign, hand out flyers and collect money from new members and renewals. I expect to be there to tear down as well.
Only you know if it is worth while or not.
I don't think Lance would want us selling at the C3 parking area, but handing out info might be OK.
Whatever you decide, I will be there for you.

I go to the Ford show at Carlisle in June and how they do that Carlisle sets up a free big tent if you register 25 or more members of a club. I don't know if they do it for Corvettes or not, but it would be worth looking into. They let you sell club merchandise from the tents also! Just a thought.

Officially C3VR can have a booth in the C3 Parking area, with info and merchandise, but I've chosen not to since I had the space in swap meet area, I feel like there is more foot traffic there. If I do not come up there, it does not make sense to ship anything other than a box of flyers. I'd have to count on you guys to bring a canopy and maybe a table for the parking area.
Ultimately, if nothing official gets set up, so be it. The past few years have not been very useful. We get a few new members each, year, but not sure it is worth the effort and expense for me to be there.
