Hey Rich-

I found a '68 Convertible - rally red/black vinyl. 327/4-speed, early prod; hardtop, PO1 wheel covers, no air, no p/s. thinking about buying. #s matching engine apart (but good condition), good interior, car was in storage last 20 years! $7500. I would restore it and keep the '74 as a driver. What do you think? I have to check prices on assembling and installing engine. the 68/69 convertibles are the most valuable C3s according to Corvette magazine (68 convertible-11k needs TLC/33k good/49k show) and that's for the small block! You can't get hurt spending 20k on one of these...so I'm tempted for a resto project. He's a Chevy engine factory guy..sending me photos. Stay tuned.

Hey Bob..you are hilarious! It was good to meet you..I figured the pics were from the flag line up. Go for the 68..it WILL be a project and a serious investment. I have close to 30 hours in mine to get it where it is today and I have plenty more to go..from clutch flywheel and exhaust..still playing with the wiper washers. I need an internal electrical part to make it work right..having fun finding that..looking foward to the pics of the 68.

It was good to meet you and everyone in the Registry. By seeing those early cars including yours, I decided that's what I really want. I've always liked the first C3s. If it's not this project car it will be another 68/69 4-speed Convertible/Hardtop.

Vette(s): 1972 conv, 4-speed, 350, 200hp, numbers match, rally wheels, war bonnett yellow w/white top. good condition, nice driver.
These cars are ALL project cars. It is a labor of LOVE. Of course it helps to have a few pennies in store and the address of some good parts suppliers. I waited 30+ years to get mine. Saved my pennies, got my kids through college and married. Now wifey and I can enjoy a day off and kabitz with some other fine people who belong to this fraternity.
