I checked the website http://www.harley-davidson.com/en_US/Content/Pages/Factory_Tours/york.html
and called the phone number 877-883-1450.
They have plant tours M-F, 9 a.m. till 2 p.m. They also have tours on Saturday, but not likely to have production.
They may or may not have production on Friday, depending on orders.
I will call the plant 717-852-6590 on Wednesday, 8/22/12 to see if they will be working. Plant tours are always better if they are actually working.
Either way, I will be going on 8/24/12, unless the weather is really bad.
Groups of 10 or more need to make a reservation. I don't want to do that.
If you plan to go, they suggest you go early.
Address is 1425 Eden Rd, York, PA. It's about 30 minutes south of Carlisle.

I'm in let me know what they say when you call, do they do a special tour for 10 or more? I have their book on lean machine and how they turned themselves around. It's a great read.

We did the tour a few years ago. Well worth going there. They take you right out on the floor with the workers.
Gonna miss Carlisle.

I went last year and it was a good tour.
I believe if you have a group of 10 or more they put you all in one tour and you need to make an appointment.
If you get there between 8:30 and 8:45, you will be in the first group of about 20 (at the most). The tour takes an hour. Figure about 30 minutes to look at the new motorcycle display, take a few pictures and pick up a few trinkets st the plant store.
Should be back at Carlisle by 11:30 AM.

Apparantly you didn't look at the website.

1425 Eden Rd.
York, PA 17402
Go south on I83. East on US 30 (Arsenal Rd). Look for the plant on your left. Watch for the Visitor parking area. Bear to the right as you enter the property.

I would also suggest wearing light weight clothes. as I recall on my tour a few years back it is very hot in the plant especially in the summer
