On a positive I told Dan that its good that he has the only year with a split bumper cover because he only has to replace one side. Hail the '74!

Got the estimate and the guy told me you can only buy both sides as a set

"PLEASE" No next time!

Sorry to hear about your mishap.
How bad was the other vehicle?
You were parked when he hit you, right?
Has your insurance adjuster looked at it yet?

So I will have a spare left side for next time...

Go with the TruFlex cover....it has a molded seam down the center, and is a lot easier to get mounted/fitted to the car than the hard glass ones.
If you get the "normal" 'glass set, you'll prolly have to replace both sides, since it(new right side one) prolly will NOT match up to the undamaged one you still have.

No other car involved Dave, thank goodness. Sent pics to adjuster yesterday with the estimate. Waiting to hear back from them. Said they would send me check and I could take it wherever I wanted.

Estimate did include Tru-flex bumper Joel, but the guy seems to think he will only have to replace damaged side...we'll see.

Sure hope so. When I bought my 'glass rear cover set years ago, they came from the same manufacturer, but had two different date codes on them. The fit around the license plate was horrible....one side sticks out farther than the other, and the angle on the lower edge is different on the two pieces....

I was really sicken to hear of your misfortune. We are always trying to improve our cars, so taking a "hit" like this really hurts. Please let us know how you feel about you insurance company and you claim. I am nearing the finish of the work on mine and looking into what insurance to purchase...etc...to protect my investment as much as possible.
P.S. Loved the Band-Aid picture.

Well so Hagerty seems to be ok. Wanted me to submit an estimate and pictures of damage which I did and they would send me a check. So here's hoping it's not going to be "checks in the mail" deal. Waiting to see at this point. P.S. Loved the Band-Aid picture.
