I have had a few Pms concerning Mid America's Funfest for this year like......
When is it?
Where is it?
What goes on there?
With that I thought I would post their new "Live Link" FUNFEST 2008
My wife and I have been attending since "96". We have seen it grow from a few hundred folks to last years 46,000. It is awesome!
Fact is that had I not stopped by a certain booth about Vettes between the years of 1968 - 1982 a few years back I probably would not be writing this now.
Last year we had a fairly large representation at this event and I am hoping that this year will be bigger yet.
We will have a tent set up in the club parking area for members to hang out and meet and greet each other. They will also have the opportunity to speak with folks who are interested in becoming members of C3VR as I will be inviting those who stop by the booth to take a look at the members Vettes and stop by the tent.
We have a Friday night dinner currently planned and there is time yet to plan a Saturday dinner as well if there is an interest.
In the past we have gathered together for some social time. I hope we do this again as I am looking forward to visiting with old friends as well as making new acquaintances.
There is a posts up for Booth Help, Club parking, Canopy Wanted, Field Of Dreams, and the Friday Dinner. If any of these items are of interest to you please look them over and sign them if you like.
I will be updating this thread and the subsequent threads frequently so check back often.
Here are all of the current FUNFEST links:
BOOTH HELP
CLUB PARKING
PARKING PASS INFO & DIRECTIONS TO FUNFEST
FIELD OF DREAMS
FRIDAY NIGHT DINNER
CANOPY WANTED
thanks, Tux...

Updated to provide all of the current links in original post.
Another thought would there be an interest in a Saturday evening dinner?
Would there be an interest in a Saturday night get together for refreshments, conversation, maybe a little rousing game of Catch Phrase?
Just tryin to add to the fun for those that would like to attend.

Friday Evening Art Reception and Wine Tasting Charity Event
Corvette Funfest 2008 marks the fourth year of hosting our exclusive Automotive Art Exhibit. Mike and I invite you to our home on Friday evening September 19th, to enjoy this annual event. In the past, and again this year, our local 7-County Foster- Children Program will benefit from this annual reception.
Have Lunch With The Chief!
Take advantage of this opportunity to get up close and personal with Mid America Motorworks' very own Chief Cheerleader, Mike Yager. Mike will greet you in the MY Garage Museum where he will discuss how it all began and move into his favorite topic - his very own MY Garage Museum Collection. A catered lunch will be served at noon.
Saturday Evening Chuck Wagon BBQ
How do you celebrate one of the biggest Corvette gatherings in the world? Mid America Motorworks wants to celebrate it with an old fashioned Chuck Wagon BBQ, drinks, a bonfire and live entertainment!
Dear Funfest Registrants,
This year is an exceptionally
special year for us at Mid America Motorworks. At Corvette Funfest this year, we have not one, but two very exciting anniversaries to celebrate!
Twenty years ago, Mid America Designs teamed up with Exxon, Goodyear, and many others to bring about the Challenge Series. What an exciting history we have seen for those cars! Many of the owners, racers, and designers will be at Funfest this year!
We are also celebrating the 15th annual Corvette Funfest. Looking at Funfest today, it's hard to believe that 15 years ago, we started out with just 300 Corvettes and 1,200 people. Thanks to all of you who have been faithfully attending each year!
Let's make this year the best yet!
Hugs,

I like the Chuck-wagon BBQ idea and it sounds good. Maybe we just eat in the tent area and kick back and relax....?

Hey all.... I thought I might ask if ya'll had any ideas for evening fun... (keep this clean now). Most of you know some of our best times have been the relax and share time when we get together.
If you have some ideas that you want to kick around then either post em up or send me a PM / e-mail. I am working on a few but Ive been around the block a few times with some of you guys and gals and have found you to always bring fun to the plate.
So what say you?

Tux,
I may have a problem for Saturday at 8:00AM. I'll be in NYC all week and not 100% sure I'll be able to be there. Some good news, the 78 Silver Anniversary got NCRS Top Flight a couple of weeks ago. Thanks, Mike
