For Funfest this year special rates have been procurred for 30 rooms for C3VR folks at the Days Inn 1205 N. keller Drive Effingham, Il. In order to be eligble for the reduced rate of $79.99 a night you must stay Thurs - Sun (3 nights).
Qualifying rooms are: single queen, double queen, single king.
Evening meals will be provided on Thurs. Fri, & Sat.
If you choose to stay Fri - Sun (2 nights) reduced rates negotiated will be $114.99.
You may reserve a room by contacting the hotel manager (John) direct on his cell phone @ 1-217-663-6448. Please tell them you are with the C3VR Corvette Group.
I would like for you to reply to this thread when reservations are made so that I can keep track of those rooms available. If we don't utilize all of the rooms I will make them available to other Corvette groups.

As of today (8-17-2010) there are 17 rooms remaining. You have the opertunity to reserve a room until 8-26-2010. On 8-27-2010 I am going to release the remaining rooms to Mid America Motorworks.

Hi. It's me Karen. Mitch wanted me to tell you what happened when we made our reservations for Effingham about 2 weeks ago. I called Days Inn and they were hesitant to give me the reservations at the agreed price. The manager (John) told me that the manager we dealt with last September wasn't there anymore, he was. He could give me a room for two nights, not three. He told me "I'm not saying you're lying about the price, but I'll get back to you on that" They didn't and I called them back. He told me he was also manager of the Rodeway Hotel right across the parking lot and that he could give me three nights for the price of $79.99. He said he only had about 6 rooms in C3VR at Days Inn but 30 available rooms at Rodeway. So to make a long story
short, we are reserved at Rodeway.

Karen thank you for letting me know. I called and spoke with John today about this.He was unaware of any agreement that we had made last year with his brother.
I informed him of the the written agreement that I have with their representative for Funfest and the 2011 Gathering.
He is going to check on this and get back with me. If he does'nt then I will continue to call them until I get some answers. I will post them here and keep folks informed.

I spoke with the Days Inn group sales representative and he sent me this information:
"I spoke to John at the Days Inn and after closer inspection he does have your groups rooms. Several people have already claimed some but he does have them. Please give him a call if you need further information.

Hopefully that will help clear everything up. I will also give the Hotel another call yet this week and talk with Priscilla just to make sure.

That is why I don't stay at Days Inn ( too many bad times) I will be staying at Comfort Suits for the C-3 outing next May.. They still got rooms, if we take 15 or more it is $78.00 a night. I got 4 already. Comfort Suits 1310 W. Fayette Rd. Effingham...217-342-3151
