I was wondering if there is anyone using a frt spreader bar on your vettes. I am thinking about getting one because it sounds as though it would make sense. Ecklers offer 2 different types, one says welding on the car needed and one says no welding on the car needed. Also I see sharkbite also sells them as well.
If you ar eusing one did you see a noticeable difference?

You plannin on doin some(a lot) autocrossin? That's the only reason I could see for needing one, meself. They DO help keep the front frame area from crackin half the welds.
Don't think you can run a "normal" fan/fan clutch set up with one, either.
It will definitely stiffen up the front frame...no doubt aboot it.

Vette(s): 1976 with a factory LZ HP 350, 4 speed with gymkhana suspension I ordered new in 1976 it has 45.000 mi and I am currently doing a frame off restoration

I am doing a resto mod on my 76 and have added the spreader bar to the front suspension. I chose the unwedded version as I would like to center the bar on the shock tower center line or as close as possible. From what I have seen the welded one is biased to one side of the mounting bracket I also do not plan to use the clutch fan either I am adding a double electric fan on a big block radiator (I am running the original sm block) Just my 2cents

I installed one when I upgraded to the Dewitts rad and dual Spal fans. Not sure it does a lot but no harm in trying.

I bought mine from Speeddirect.com.
