No outstanding news yet. Just a few pictures on the vault unearthing.
The one picture looked like the vault was filled with water...not good.
Does anybody have any new news?

They showed it being lifted out of the vault on the NBC Evening News, the car was drapped with a tarp and as far as I could tell was in good shape.

It was rusted from top to bottom. It did not fare well. Apparently the concrete vault leaked and it had a bout 4 feet of water in it. I may try to get over to Tulsa tomorrow to see it . If so I will take pics.

I read an article this morning about the event. They also opened a time capsule that was in the vault and the first thing that came out was an american flag as bright and crisp as the day it was sealed. The crowd apprently went crazy when it was pulled out.

Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses.

I just watched a video on AOL. They only had about 5 seconds of the actual car, and it did not look pretty. 71Shark, pictures from soneone who knows cars would be a nice thing. Love to see them if you can get there!
I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!
That's too bad. Would have been great if it had came out as new and shiny as it went in. Too much to hope for, I guess.

Boyd Coddington's guys are working with her this weekend. They are also trying to determine who will own her. In 1957, if you guessed the correct population total for Tulsa OK in 2007, you or your ancestor will win the car.
They have the guesses from the Time Capsule. They also locally interviewed several folks who were there in '57.
There was a glass 5 gallon jug of gasoline in the trunk that survived, along with some cans of oil "in case fossil fuels were no longer in use". There was also a six pack of beer that, due to non-aluminum cans, were rusted out. Also, a ladies purse on the front seat with tranquilizers in it. No explanation as yet for the purse.
There were folks from as far away as England and Sweden that flew in to see the car unwrapped. They were true car guys as they didn't care about her condition. As they said, "You can go to a Museum and see a perfect one, this one is special".
