I have found a 1980 Shay Model A Ford on ebay.  The car is actually in Kirkland, WA.  Anybody close by that can check this car out for me.
  Hate to buy sight unseen.

The Shay's are a fiberglass reproduction of the Model A  It is on a Pinto Chassis, 4 speed and has 5600 actual miles.  The owner as agreed to 10K.

I have joined the Shay Forum and am asking for help from any members too.

If I buy, need to get shipped to or near Klamath Falls OR.  I can actually drive to Interstate 5, to pick up.  Drop off could be Medford, OR or Weed, CA.  Both of these towns only 80 miles from me.  Any ideas of help here too ??

Sorry Steve, I'd love to check this car out for ya but have other commitments today.  Kirkland is about 2.5 hours from me and I was actually planning on doing a show there today but that got canceled also   Good luck, those are cool looking cars.

Thanks Mark, I really appreciate.  Wow, 2 1/2 hours away.  No I wouldn't ask anybody to drive that far.  I was just hoping to find someone closer.  I have also been in contact with the ShayForum and might find someone.  Hate to buy sight unseen.  Thanks again..... your really a great guy....

I wish I could help but am another 1/2 hour south of Mark.

Beside, being a little jaded towards Fords wouldnt help either.

The only good Ford is someone else's.


But if one HAD to buy a Ford this one sounds as close to something cool as can get.

Thanks John.  I know what you mean about Fords...I'm no big fan either.  I just remember when the Shays first came out in about 1980.  I always thought it would be a fun car to own.  Heres a pic of another one,

PS   in fact the one that I am interested in Seattle for 10K looks just like the    one in the picture.

The Ford Dealerships sold these cars.  Can't remember how much $$ tho.

I have never looked at a Shay before but the Ebay one sparks my interest for what seems to be a low dollar investment.

As far as Fords go I used to build lifted off road trucks and the Fords are very tuff and ride probably the best of any of the trucks out there.
