Vette(s): 1972 conv., sunfire yellow, blk interior, blk vinyl and convertible top. Off frame restoration with American Speed 383 stroker engine producing 500hp plus a 200hp NOS system. MSD ignition. Hooker super competition headers with chambered exhaust.
Guys this is a breather that was in the trunk of the 62 Impala when I bought it. I want to get it cleaned up and put it on ebay to get it out of my way.

The lid is 17 inches across. The emblem says 327 Turbo-Fire 375 Horsepower. The number on the service instructions label is 6421966. It also says "use AC filter #A212CW filter". Anyone have an idea what it came off of?

Well, I'm not sure, but it looks amazingly enough like an air filter set-up, sitting on a blue collapsible chair, with two shoes pointing at it.

You sure it says 375hp? Seems odd they would have a single snorkel on a high HP engine. The 375 hp Corvettes were fuelies, so it ain't a 'Vette.(duh)
Possibly a BelAir/Sport Coupe Impala?

Rolling%20On%20The%20Floor%20Laughing Joel you're seeing things. There's only one foot in the pic. Rolling%20On%20The%20Floor%20Laughing

Maybe it does say 275hp and i'm sure it's not for a vette but I need to know what application it's  for. Confused

The 67 SS Impalas had a 375HP 327...
and I definitely see a foot & 1/2...

But it still just seems strange there would be a single snorkel on a high horse engine...but, what do I know? Adams' Apple2007-03-03 20:03:15

Looks like a low horsepower one by that small opening..... ( as if 275 is something to sneeze at)

According to the book "Chevy Super sports 1961-1976" T. Boyce 1981

the chart in the back of the book shows that the 327 didnt have a 275 HP option until 1966 and that was on the Impala SS and Nova SS through 1968

not saying my list is all incompassing, but a idea what they came on...

I don't think that's the right application. Here's an ad for a 67 Impala SS 327/275 -

that air cleaner on the impala ad seems to belong on a older car, early 60's or so...

and you'd take the word of a bubbized ghetto cruiser ad over a fellow C3 members words of wisdom?

I didn't talk to the guy that owns the Ghetto cruiserRolling%20On%20The%20Floor%20Laughing Just looked at the pictire of what was in the engine bed, trying to help out the forum. You could be right about the age of the vintage, though.

I certainly do no discount the value that my fellow c3VR brethren add!!!Stern%20Smile

How about a 1964 327/300 HP version. Restored car with even more HP....

Here's an add for an air cleaner application from 1962 to 1967:
