I have a small garage (under 10' ceiling), so I got a scissor lift. It came last week and I got the hydraulic fluid today and used it. It's absolutely fantastic. Here's a few pics...

Hey John,

That scissor lift looks like "THE BOMB" for a low garage. Where'd you get it and what was the cost and lift height?? Huntsville is just a hop from Nashville.

I got it here. It was $1300.00. They offer free shipping to a depot and then you pick it up from there. I paid an extra $160 to have it delivered to the house and unloaded since I don't have a truck.

I had to make a raised platform for the sides. The trans crossmember will scrape when dring on. Also, my Accord's catalytic convertor head sheild scrapes. I just used a couple 2x12's on each side to give me the needed clearence. Wink

i have basically the same scissor lift. thought i was the only one. as john stated they are great. got mine from complete hydraulic, model # tcpl-6. price is 1049.00 plus shipping.  the only thing that caught on my vette was the mullfler clamp but as john stated i put 2 -- 2x12s on each side just for an extra margin. i only have an 8' ceiling and max height of lift is 53" off floor. the roof of vette at full lift is about 2" from ceiling. i use a roll around mechanics chair under it and work very comfortably.Thumbs%20Up

Looks like Greg Smith only has post lifts. Do you think the scissor lift will roll on asphalt? I think I'll put an asphalt pad under my auxiliary garage at home when I build it this summer.

I've got a Greg Smith catalog(I got mine from them) and they do show a scissor lift, the Atlas Pro 6MR. $1295. I think my catalog is about a year old.

they suggest a concrete base for the scissor lift. i would imagine the same would hold true for a post lift as asphalt will compress and doesn't get as hard as concrete.
