GUYS, THIS IS IMPORTANT, CITGO GAS IS CHANGING ITS NAME TO "PETRO EXPRESS". ITS ONLY A NAME CHANGE, IT IS STILL OWNED BY CAVEZ THE DICTATOR OF VENEZULA. HE HAS LOST SO MUCH MONEY SINCE THE BOYCOTT STARTED HE IS TRYING THIS DIRTY TRICK OF NAME CHANGING.
PLEASE CONTINUE TO BOYCOTT CITGO, SEVEN ELEVEN AND ANY OTHER STORE THATS SELLS CITGO
GAS. TOGETHER WE CAN SHOW THIS GUY, WHO SAYS HE WILL BRING DOWN THE AMERICAN GOVERNMENT, THAT AMERICANS STICK TOGETHER. IF WE CONTINUE WE WILL SEE THIS GUY AND HIS STATIONS AND GAS DRY UP.

I don't even drive into a 7-11 parking lot anymore...haven't for a few years, now. I'll sit on the side of the road, out of fuel, before I spend a dime there. I have way more issues with that "Corp" than just the ownership, but that is one of them...

The sad--no, make that extremely dangerous--fact is, there's no such thing anymore as 100% 'American gas" available from any of the major national gasoline retailers. And hasn't been since our C3's were first made.

We're importing more than half the petroleum we consume--and have been for decades. It's the single most important national security issue our country faces--because it's our fuel dollars that are flowing to the Middle East, Latin America, Indonesia, etc. And all you have to do is turn on the nightly news to see the turmoil and terrorism that those regions are experiencing. And exporting, along with their oil.

The utter failure of our political leaders--from both parties--to address this ongoing nightmare will go down as the worst mistake of our age. And we're only starting to pay the price for it now.

Or more accurately--and tragically--since September 11, 2001.

I remember way back in college I had an economics prof that felt the trade deficit wasn't a bad thing...it meant we have more of their goods than they have of ours and that fact could be used as economic leverage against them. Sounds good in theory...but the years since the early '70s have proven it wrong...all it takes is for the oil producers to turn off the spigot (or threaten to) and the markets go crazy and poeple panic. I doubt if academia has changed much since then...they still live in their dream world where all we have to do is make nice to the bad guys they'll see the error of their ways and become our buddies.

I can only hope to live long enough to see the Arab and other unfriendly oil producing countries (such as Venezuela) run out of oil...then they'll find out how many friends they really have in this world.

There is a gas station here in Jersey, Rt. 57 between Washington & Phillipsburg, that has a hugh sign out front that says "ONLY ENGLISH SPOKEN HERE"
Now that's my kind of gas station.

Never heard of this before but ya I've never stopped to fill up at a 7-11.  Only gas I use is Chevron, and this is because of something that happened during our last earthquake here in WA. I just totally agree with Chevron's company policies Thumbs%20Up

Nothing saying you have to buy your gas at that same place. Maybe you can cut back buying there, but it's your call.

The fact is that no matter what brand gasoline a station sells, they get gasoline wherever they can...even the big name companies often pick up gas from one another as market conditions and area supply fluctuations occur. What brand is on the pump doesn't guarantee their brand is in the pumps.

Once crude oil is pumped and hits the market, there's really no way of telling where it came from...as far as fuel oils go. Motor oils have different bases (paraffin and asphalt) and maybe can be determined to be from a general region, but that's about all.

[/QUOTE] Exactly!!you can't tell, gas is gas.As a matter of fact I don't buy my gas there because I can allways go right accross the street and get the good old Enmark for a few cents cheaper. They don't care.Their main business is shop work and fish bait/supplies.Now that you mention it he did tell me some time back that he was going to be a Mobil station. This was about 6 mos back.I'd forgotten about it until this thread.I'll have to ask if it's anything to do about the Citgo thing.
