Everything on your Accord is 'puter controlled(and they have been since the mid-eighties). I would suggest first having someone do a scan on it, and see if the 'puter can point you in the right direction. It could very well be a simple speed sensor flaking out.
Also, if you have that unit serviced(fluid change) make sure to use the recommended Honda fluid. Any other fluid will create serious problems.

Get a computer scan first. It could be a TPS(Throttle Position Sensor), an engine rpm sensor, ABS sensor.... you get the picture.
My wifes '99 V6 Accord with an A/T hunts for shift points like a squirel looking for nuts in fall. Are today's transmissions computer controlled like the engine is? Could this be a computer issue or just a plain ole mechanical problem. I know if I take to a tranny shop it'll be $1200-$1500 repair.
Good to see you on here !!!!! What a great group of people !

OMG at the lag I just had here . I went to other sites and was fine..
Fix it like it was a Turbo 400 Joel !!!

Update on tranny issue: We took the car to the local Honda dealer 8/25 for a diagnostic check of the transmission issue. Told it would be $96 for the check. No problem with that because after doing research on this problem it seems to be a known issue on these cars. After waiting all day for the results, here they are.
Diagnostic check found that the transmission is bad $0 dollars
Replacement of bad transmission $0 dollars
Labor to replace bad transmission $0 dollars
Good public relations Priceless

JUST SAW YOUR POST ON TAKING IT TO THE HONDA DEALER. IWAS GOING TO SUGGEST THAT. HONDA IS VERY AWARE OF THE TRANS PROBLEM AND LIKES TO KEEP CUSTOMERS. JUST TO LET YOU KNOW, THE TRANSMISSION WILL ONLY BE WARRANTIED FOR 12/12 AND IS A FACTORY REMAN UNIT, NOT NEW.
