Did Ya Know that it's WAX that opens the radiator thermostat?
All this time and now I come up with  a piece of trivia.
Also the show (How Its Made) is going to show a car engine made. That's Another 10 minutes of gripping suspense That I won't miss. (I got it set to record) Rolling%20On%20The%20Floor%20Laughing

You saw "How it's made" on TV?????

I was amazed to see that as well.

I always thought it was done with two different types of metal that expand and contract with temperature.....

Learn something new everyday....

Tear something else up while you're watching the program. Total enjoyment.

Yeah Most engine theromstats have been of the wax type for many years, they are more reliable.  Old English cars used bi-metallic units until they kept breaking.
