 IS THIS NEAT, OR WHAT?????

Turn up the sound, turn down the lights, and watch this short 3 minute video in Full Screen mode.

I have never seen a night airshow before.

This is something to see....

You will not find a greater slate of airshow performers in one place at the same time than you will find at the Experimental Aircraft Association's (EAA) annual celebration of flight called AirVenture.  Held every summer (late July-early August) at Wittman Field in Oshkosh, WI it is the largest aviation gathering in the world.  If you have even the slightest interest in aviation you owe it to yourself to attend this celebration of everything related to man-made flight.

Even though I'm not a pilot I've been an EAA member since 1985 and have attended AirVenture several times.  There is always something new and different to see (There's no way THAT can get off the ground!) and the airshows will leave you in awe of what can be done in an aircraft.

If you haven't been there yet be sure to add it to your bucket list.  Thumbs Up

Oh Yeah!  What a great show!  I went last year.  It is worth the trip.

Last year I took turns flying a Vans RV-6A there and back to Tucson.

One of my instructors always said....

"Flying at night is just like flying during the day.... only entirely different."

Nice show!

Dude! That video rocks!!! Thank you for sharing.

That was cooler than being on a refuel mission over Aviano Italy at night. Well almost cooler. LOL j/k.
I'm going to share this on my FB page. Thumbs Up

@Dave M. have fun at the Air Force Museum. I haven't been there in a few years. But I still remember what a great display of aircraft and history they have there. Bring good walking shoes. Wink

Larry kewl vid thanks!
We do bad arse aircraft all day at work! Anything nasty flying has our drive shafts on it. I have a couple full titainum SR71 shafts made into lamps.....big lamps!
When I tour groups I tell them all those UFO's they see are really our planes, we have a Harrier and JSF that hovers, a B2 bomber that looks like a bat, of course we have made a flying saucer (Skunk Works) The reason they fly them at night is so you can't see em.
I was making the F117 stealth fighter jet drive shafts 10 years before they told the American public we had it!
Plus our plant is on Griffis AFB and we get pratice touch and goes by F16's free airshows!
Norsky I'd love to see that show!

Ebo, titanium shafts. When I worked in a steel mill, they used to lock up the titanium scrap so no one would steal it................(after all it was a steel mill).........ha ha! I used to work also where they made the landing gear. The paint finish was totally unbelievable. It was slicker than snot. They had to pump are into the painting area and exhaust air out. Completely filtered as to not allow any imperfections in the paint. The guys had to wear special gear also. The paint fumes were toxic. The plant of course was a BF Goodrich (ebo) Plant in Cleveland. All the aircraft companies had offices there and had to approve each piece before it was shipped out.
