Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses.

I know there was another post (many posts) about this, but it looks like most of them are fairly aged.
So, gas has been below $2 a gallon for months here in Indy (after we thought we'd never see it under $3 a gal). Deisel had been above $2 for as long as I can remember, but about a week or two ago, it finally fell to $1.97 and this morning was down to $1.92. I don't use Deisel, but I pass a couple of truck stop gas stations on the way to work each day that always keep prices low.
Well, that was this morning. Gas was $1.82 on the way in, a few places down as low as $1.75. By late morning, almost everywhere was $2.05.
The price competitive Truck Stop stations were only at $1.98, but Deisel was still at $1.92. Deisel is now cheaper than Regular Gas for the first time since....???
I was lucky enough to find a grocery store still at $1.83, and with my $.10 discount, I got it for $1.73. But I'm not looking forward to spring prices now that I'll have the Vette out.
What's gas doing elsewhere?
I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

Well, in Texas it's about $1.98 - $2.00 for PLUS. I put PLUS in the C5, it's the daily driver.

Well, here in Kansas, regular is about $1.66 - $1.79 with diesel at $1.99 - $2.11. Not too bad, sure a lot better than a year ago.

The difference between men and boys is the cost of their toys!!
Funny about gas prices here. Lowest we got was 1.49. Now its 2.07
Just wondering what was the lowest anybody had?
And how much did it go up?

Well, I knew it couldn't last.... Regular is up to $1.99/gal and diesel is $2.19/gal here in Kansas. It went up @30 cents in the last 2 days.
Just hope it's temporary and goes right back down (sure it will, right??
).

Diesel and Gas are about the same price here now. Around 2 bucks.
Good for the truck drivers
. And good for the local Walmart!!
All I see on the highway is lots of Walmart Trucks.
Also I got filled up stove oil, 1.75 a gal.
Hadn't seen that low of price in years. Takes me about 2 gal/ day to heat my house this winter.

Last week I was reading the news online, a US nuclear sub collieded with a US Navy ship near a port in the middle east. This was causing a spike in oil prices according to the story. I read the story on MSNBC so it may still be there.

Fuel prices are going up because they can and they do not need a reason!
It should be noted that big oil continues to make record profits quarter after quarter - WHILE the dealers that sell their products (Gas Stations) are seeing record losses this year! I have two Chevrons in the Phoenix area and our bottom line in down 25- 35% from last year and even more from 2007.
It will be interesting to see what the new fed taxing will do to the oil industry.
BTW my stores are currently priced at 1.87 and 1.89 and that is with 13 to 15 cent margins which is NOT a lot!
