Remember when you're paying those high prices at the pump that Exxon just posted record profits!

Another example of corporate America sticking it to the working man?

I don't bother so much the profits of Exxon , ( we work for petrochemical plants  ) but our TAXES !!!!   Our governement knows where to look for money....:

big engines are taxed serieusly : 1st registration ( 6.000 $ ) and every year 3.600 $ road tax , not to mention the taxes they collect from fuel !

Now , my daily driver is a Toyota landcruiser 4.2 liter diesel. For 4 years accepted as a "truck" , so 300 $ annual road tax. ( reason why i bought it ) OYEH , they find something new....such jeeps are no longer accepted as "trucks" , yes , from 2006 : 3.600 $...

The same with fuel : 10 years ago diesel was about 1/2 price of gas. So many people bought diesel cars and indeed diesel cars are became very good . Now, 3/4 drives a diesel.OYEH, they made 1st registration of a diesel : price x 2 and meanwhile the dieselfuel is near the same price as gas..... Where it was that cheap , now you have to drive at least 15.000 miles/year before a gas engine becomes more expensive than diesel.Ofcourse with my diesel you can't consume more than extra 20 % no mather how hard you push the pedal, something else with a gas engine.....

see you !

Diesel is actually about 30 to 40 cents a gallon higher here. Makes me glad I went with the 454 in my truck!

I live in North Carolina, we have the 2nd highest taxed gas in the nation, (we have to fund thoses slush funds you know) In northeastern NC its 2.40 for regular,, 2.75 for high test, that price can vary 20% within a few miles, we only have 2 gas wholesellers in this area, so no matter which station you go to within a 100 mile range you purchase gas that came via one of these two, (talk about price fixin)Wink   rick d

Well here in Washington at Fort Lewis (Army Base) the price of gas had gone as low as $1.97 a gal.  about one month ago, then went up to $1.99 and stayed there awhile before it headed up to $2.15 a gal. where it is now.

Dang! It's hard to believe Louisiana's 'Flying J' at the la/tx line is leading the pack at $2.14 reg. As for Exxon... check this out..Watch our new cartoon on ExxonMobil  from "Defenders of Wildlife'. I do avoid the two whenever possible.
