Topic: GPS?
in Forum: General Non-Vette Discussion
Does anyone have a working knowledge of GPS systems? I need to install one on the vet, my wife is a first responder and I would like to have one that will locate all the local addresses (kinda like the ones the FEMA people were using) and it would be very nice to have it talk.
She can respond fast if she can find it.

Nice website Ken..
I would also suggest if you get one that will mount on the dash or windshield... try to find one with the remote control, to avoid having to reach across the dash to touch the screen... much more convenient..
DeadRec is nice if you have poor satelite reception... of course it depends on what you are willing to spend..
I'm still looking, funny how all the salespeople say they have what I need but none of them know how to use or operate their systems.Again thanks for the help.
If you have a West Marine or Boat US near.. I have found the dealers there are pretty knowledgeable on the GPS. I bought my Garmin 2610 there and the price was competitive too. The guy was up on it also...
If you are interested in Garmin, I think they still have the owner manuals on there website, and you can find a lot about Garmin at http://www.garmin.com/mobile/products.html#automotive
