Just trying to confirm engine origin. was told it was orig a 1969 427 the head casting number is TO 2 EE OR LE 191273489 .
WHEN YOU TURN 50 YOUR EYES REALLY PLAY TRICKS ON YOU, BUT THIS IS WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE TO ME.
I HAVE LOOKED IN MORTEC, BUT CANNOT MATCH UP ??
ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

I can't find those numbers either. I would think the "TO" would be a Tonowanda foundry mark.
I guess it's possible they're an aftermarket casting from a high performance supplier, but would most likely include their name as well somewhere in the castings.

While its possible this is a "service" part, the cast # doesn't make sense at all. All Chev.(big blk) head castings started with "39*****", until '73. More investigation is needed! Get out yer magnifying glass, and check the # again, and look for any ID marks, especially on the ends of the heads. This is where a lot of aftermarket mfgs put their logos.

The numbers on the front passenger side are actually stamped on the deck of the block, not the head. To get the head numbers, well, it's probably time for new valve cover gaskets anyway.

I kind of had a feeling the numbers you gave us were from the block, that's the block code and vin from the car that the engine was in originally. To get a number from the head, remove the valve cover, in there, you should see casting number and date. It's probably time to change the gaskets anyway
